Try Nouveau. It should just work these days.

I've tried. I've loose Kwin effects, some graphics intensive apps are really much slower than before (eg Krita, games, etc.) and the desktop itself feels less responsive. Besides, HD videos are not as smooth as with nVidia prop drivers. So thank you, but for now Nouveau is not an option for me :-(.
