After my laptop has been using sleep - then later its on A/C - unplugging and going on battery - the power applet switches to 'powersave' from 'performance'. However - it really has not changed - and the screen is bright. In the applet if I toggle to performance (no visible change) and then back to powersave - then screen dims ..
