Theme customization causes "dark" theme always

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

On the system settings, desktop theme page you can select the overall
theme OK. However, if you try to customize a themes using the "details"
tab it doesn't seem to work right. For example, if your overall theme is
"Laughlin" but you want widgets to be something else, like "Aya" and you
choose that, *all* desktop items, the panel, widgets, kicker etc, all
assume a blackish theme. If you log off and back on it doesn't help.

Also, if you just set widgets back to the original Laughlin setting, it
has no effect. You have to return to the theme tab, select another theme
and then select Laughlin again to clear the "dark" theme.

I do have a few dark themes installed such as "slim glow" and "oxygen"
but they aren't selected.

A quick search of the bugs.kde.org found no mention of this specific
problem.

Note: Even if a non-existent item like "Analog Clock" (that I don't
have) is selected for customization, it causes all items to be
customized to the dark theme.

Oh yes, this is kde 4.6.1 and f14/x86_64 I am using. Never tried this
with earlier versions. Also, see this on more than one system (both use
the default radeon/mesa driver, which might be relevant).

Finally, this problem sounds somewhat similar to this posting to this
list earlier this year:
