True, one cannot choose to add or remove components at installation 
time. (Maybe not.) But the current version of KPackageKit does allow a 
user to choose to add/remove components of all types and categories at 
any time following installation.

What concerns me more than that issue is that the KDE spin does not seem 
to allow any alteration of the allocation of disk space between the 
/boot partition and the rest of the disk. One is "stuck" with the 
allocation of 0.5 GB for /boot and must hope that the execution of the 
"preupgrade" program will not use up all the space available at upgrade 
time.
