xterm not in KDE menus anywhere?

You are free to modify the .desktop file.

That's the point. XTerm does specifically _not_ provide a menu item.
"NoDisplay=true" wasn't put there my accident.

Use your favorite file manager and browse to /usr/share/applications/
Doubleclick on xterm.desktop.
