In Gnome, you pretty much have to deal with what is dictated to you, just like in Windows, and I find the defaults rather ugly. I find the KDE defaults ugly too. But KDE can be made what you like it to look like. Although many people disagree, I believe that Linux is (and should be) about choice. Orcan
