Downgrading the intel driver didn't cure the display problem, yet I didn't have it with the old driver. It was basic - no compositing etc - but no display distortion either. I've tried to find out what's happening, but I'm completely lost. [root at tecraA11 ~]# yum install xorg-x11-drivers Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit Setting up Install Process Package xorg-x11-drivers-7.3-14.fc13.i686 already installed and latest version Nothing to do !! It said it removed it - and it didn't say that it put it back as a dependency. I'm utterly lost. Meanwhile, it's not obvious what is causing the display problems, as the previously installed version also has it. There must be some interaction with one of the other packages.
