I know that the new KDE framework is better in a lot of ways, but I can't help but notice that when viewing a fairly simple web page, the combination of konqueror, nspluginviewer and Xorg is using 20-25% of my available CPU resource. It used to use about 10%. Usage seems to go up with every KDE iteration. I find this a bit troubling. I am not running a lightweight machine. My laptop has a T8100 processor with 4 GB of RAM and an nVidia GeForce 8800M GTS video card. I DO NOT have any desktop effects enabled and I am using the proprietary nVidia driver.
