To build kde4 for rhel5, one needs about a bazillion new dependencies, and it replaces the standard kde3-based desktop, so more potential breakage there. So, building all the deps, and the whole kde4 core stack, plus all the good kde4-related applications to go with it... and end up replacing much of the qt/kde stack shipped with rhel5. In short, the problem is that it's a *lot* of work (for questionable gain => a relatively small target audience). -- Rex
