Only if you want to be able to rm libpulse?

It automatically detects that PulseAudio is not in use and will use plain 
ALSA just as before. The PulseAudio integration is only enabled at runtime 
if PulseAudio is actually there.

The KMix PulseAudio integration is not shippable in 4.3 nor 4.4, so no, KMix 
is not being changed at this time.

Almost everything is commented out. The code is basically unusable. So you 
don't have to fear for your ALSA-enabled KMix just yet. ;-)
