Just getting a new F11 x86_64 machine going, and every time I try to click 'Install' in Thunderbird to install a new Add-On, I get a segfault. It crashes at: cache_glob_node_lookup_suffix and doing some googling, I found an old (c. 2006) FreeBSD discussion about this, and then it was isolated to folks using KDE and the environment variable: XDG_DATA_DIRS not being set to include gnome. So, I added '/usr/share/gnome' to the end of it, and voila, no more crashes. The claim at the time was that KDE was duplicating one of the path entries instead of adding gnome. So, I have a fix/workaround in hand, but this should probably be fixed more globally. I have no idea what to file a bug on, though, or where this should get set. Or perhaps there's some package that should have been installed but wasn't? I don't have this problem on i386, though that's on different hardware. -Bill -- Bill McGonigle, Owner Work: 603.448.4440 BFC Computing, LLC Home: 603.448.1668 http://www.bfccomputing.com/ Cell: 603.252.2606 Twitter, etc.: bill_mcgonigle Page: 603.442.1833 Email, IM, VOIP: bill at bfccomputing.com Blog: http://blog.bfccomputing.com/ VCard: http://bfccomputing.com/vcard/bill.vcf
