In this case it seems that the 'problem' is actually a feature which I had not understood. Apparently, if an Inbox is expanded to show sub-folders it is assume that you want to work with it, so it asks for a password if you don't save it. If you cancel the password it collapses that inbox tree so you only get the one you want to use (in my case it is a local IMAP from my own server or a remote IMAP, still from my own server but when I am away from the LAN).
