This time, it opened with the preview pane blank, but, the other behavior with the highlighting is not occurring; I clicked on reply to my message, highlighted what I wanted to delete, and deleted it without problem. I did get the preview pane working by turning it off and back on, and then clicking on a new message in the message list. This is pretty strange stuff... -- Claude Jones Brunswick, MD
