What I've been getting for quite some time is that I don't see any text at all 
in the mail list window when I switch From the "Fancy" to the "Classic" theme.

It could have something to do with the color scheme that I'm using.

If you still don't have any trouble. Then maybe if you open up

Ssystem Settings -> Appearance -> Colors

and then pick the "Obsidian Coast" color scheme, maybe that's whats making the 
difference.
