It was of course perfectly true for the country, though I accept the rest of 
your statement :-)

Hey, it didn't bother me.  I simply hadn't thought whether it applied to the 
whole UK, but of course it was likely to.  For the purpose of the explanation 
it didn't seem worth careful examination :-)

I'm more careful when the statement could have some effect, but my 
ramblings.....
