When is Konqueror going to become a real browser ? Why hasn't it matured ?

In terms of what?

What 4.2 *may* do is release some development time to work on planned changes 
to the backend, but the advantages of that will not be seen for some time yet, 
IMO.  I stress that this is only my opinion.
