I didn't disable html mail in kmail yet, but I suspect that kmail isn't handling html correctly. I prefer html, as it makes mail more readable and enjoyable to others. Everyone uses it. Almost all the mail I get is html. People send clippings of websites, like travel itineraries, brochures of events, etc. Modern communication would not be possible without. We'd be back to using pine, or some hellish system. I'm not sure how to turn html off on a message by message basis, but knode doesn't have that feature -- it seems to be all plain text.
