"Maybe you have configured a filter which is being applied to sent 
messages, then? It's possible it matches filter criteria for the first 
copy, but not for the next one."

The only filter I created was one that says, put mail addressed To: me into 
inbox/me. That's it. The other filters were created by spambayes, but they look 
fine.
