Hi, Sorry but I can't see what the role of kde is in your problem on first sight. Firefox is using the GTK toolkit. Maybe you are using this firefox plugins which skins firefox to make it look like a native Qt program? This is the only thing I could think of. Else I would submit a bug on the redhat bugzilla :) - Gerwin linux guy wrote: > Firefox doesn't run in F10-KDE4.185 Live on my machine. > > If I run it from the command line, it immediately exits without any output. > > # yum install firefox > Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit > fedora | 2.8 kB 00:00 > fedora/primary_db | 6.6 MB 00:13 > updates | 2.3 kB 00:00 > updates/primary_db | 1.2 MB 00:02 > kde | 2.1 kB 00:00 > kde/primary_db | 3.2 kB 00:00 > kde-testing | 1.9 kB 00:00 > kde-testing/primary_db | 5.2 kB 00:00 > kde-unstable | 1.9 kB 00:00 > kde-unstable/primary_db | 159 kB 00:00 > Setting up Install Process > Parsing package install arguments > Resolving Dependencies > --> Running transaction check > ---> Package firefox.i386 0:3.0.4-1.fc10 set to be updated > --> Processing Dependency: gecko-libs = 1.9.0.4 for package: firefox > --> Processing Dependency: libxul.so for package: firefox > --> Processing Dependency: system-bookmarks for package: firefox > --> Processing Dependency: libxpcom.so for package: firefox > --> Running transaction check > ---> Package xulrunner.i386 0:1.9.0.4-1.fc10 set to be updated > --> Processing Dependency: mozilla-filesystem for package: xulrunner > ---> Package fedora-bookmarks.noarch 0:10-1 set to be updated > --> Running transaction check > ---> Package mozilla-filesystem.i386 0:1.9-2.fc10 set to be updated > --> Finished Dependency Resolution > > Dependencies Resolved > > ================================================================================ > Package Arch Version Repository Size > ================================================================================ > Installing: > firefox i386 3.0.4-1.fc10 fedora 12 M > Installing for dependencies: > fedora-bookmarks noarch 10-1 fedora 3.9 k > mozilla-filesystem i386 1.9-2.fc10 fedora 3.0 k > xulrunner i386 1.9.0.4-1.fc10 fedora 9.1 M > > Transaction Summary > ================================================================================ > Install 4 Package(s) > Update 0 Package(s) > Remove 0 Package(s) > > Total download size: 21 M > Is this ok [y/N]: y > Downloading Packages: > (1/4): mozilla-filesystem-1.9-2.fc10.i386.rpm | 3.0 kB 00:00 > (2/4): fedora-bookmarks-10-1.noarch.rpm | 3.9 kB 00:00 > (3/4): xulrunner-1.9.0.4-1.fc10.i386.rpm | 9.1 MB 00:18 > (4/4): firefox-3.0.4-1.fc10.i386.rpm | 12 MB 00:24 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Total 479 kB/s | 21 MB 00:44 > Running rpm_check_debug > Running Transaction Test > Finished Transaction Test > Transaction Test Succeeded > Running Transaction > Installing : mozilla-filesystem 1/4 > Installing : fedora-bookmarks 2/4 > Installing : xulrunner 3/4 > Installing : firefox 4/4 > > Installed: > firefox.i386 0:3.0.4-1.fc10 > > Dependency Installed: > fedora-bookmarks.noarch 0:10-1 mozilla-filesystem.i386 0:1.9-2.fc10 > xulrunner.i386 0:1.9.0.4-1.fc10 > > Complete! > > > $ firefox > $ > > $ yum list firefox > Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit > Installed Packages > firefox.i386 3.0.4-1.fc10 installed > > $ uname -a > Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.27.7-134.fc10.i686 #1 SMP Mon Dec 1 > 22:42:50 EST 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux > > $ yum list kdelibs > Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit > Installed Packages > kdelibs.i386 6:4.1.85-5.fc10 installed > > > The good news is that Konqueror can now access gmail !
