It seems fine enough to me, but also potentially disruptive... but I
guess we can back it out soon if it causes problems.
So it looks like the original list was made from https://github.com/lukes/ISO-3166-Countries-with-Regional-Codes which put most of the Middle East in Asia. I compared it to https://gist.github.com/richjenks/15b75f1960bc3321e295 which listed things a little closer to major regional networks. I then grepped, sorted from the first list Western Asia and looked to see if they were EMEA in the second list.
