You first need to setup this address correctly .. Read in Google help or using internet search about HOW TO SETUP AN ALIAS EMAIL ADDRESS using gmail , outlook email services .

Or You can get the same details from fedoraproject wiki . 

Please remember Google email services and few otgers need some changes prior to enabling email send or receive via non google email ALIAS address .. check the details

No, people are supposed to be able to send you mail with that address,
the Red Hat MTA would just auto-forward it to your email address.
