I guess rpmlint would complain as well. May be you could use a URL to the file in dist-git repo?

Not sure if that is not too daring, but it is "upstream" url of that file, isn't it?

The concerned file here is an extra doc file that is included in the
repo. Is it possible to handle this case somehow? (Was this always the
case?)
