I've branched out towards sysadmin-badges recently to help with pushing
badges out, but I've also been looking into some of the IRC notification
bots and trying to wrap my head around those.

Not yet, but I think I've found / am finding a place I'm comfortable
with contributing towards. :)

Perhaps some guides / documentation for those interested in helping with
badges, but I think I can help with this some.

I think it's still finding tickets that match with my personal
interests, but this gets easier over time, I think.
