When you start up VM, you do not get public IP automatically. Yes. We changed that behavior deliberately. We thought it would be good to make sure all instances got an external floating ip. In retrospect this just caused us problems, so I think the default behavior in the new cloud is better. It does mean we may need to adjust some ansible scripts to make sure they request a floating ip once we move things over. kevin
