Don't assume that... Fancy phones cost a lot of money, especially when you consider the extra cost of the data plans that you need to get. Between my wife and I we spend almost as much on our data plan as we do on the basic service plan. Up until a week ago my personal cell phone was a low end motorola flip phone. It allowed "apps" to be installed, but only ones that came from Verizon's app store - and just about every one cost $$$ so I wouldn't have installed it anyway.
