Hi Kohei,
Using a bash script to set up your environment for Japanese input should not be a problem at all. Please ensure that you have the following line in your script. export LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 GTK_IM_MODULE=iiim (if you are a GNOME user)
export LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 (if you are a KDE user)

Keep us informed of your progress and I look forward to your feedback on CannaLE.

Thanks,
Lawrence

Hi,

I would like to support and test this IIIMF development effort as an
avid user, but I need to know if it's possible to use it in en_US
environment.

For instance, currently I have a bash script that sets all necessary
environment variables for Japanese input, so that

./jpn.sh appname

will launch the app with Japanese input capability while retaining en_US
locale. Is it possible to do something similar with IIim? My system is
FC1.

Thanks,

Kohei
