Please review this fix, which is required to make the fix for #346 work
without just falling back to strcmp for attribute values.
It is not ideal, since it has to use a default syntax of DirectoryString
and has to reimplement some basic stuff fro the common synatx plugin
functions (I kept it to a minimum)
But doing otherwise would require some refactoring of the syntax plugin
code and would require more effort, I also think that if this will be
done we could overhaul the complete syntax plugin code.
