I think Fedora's perl (and the rest of the distribution for that matter)
should be built against libdb (db5) rather than db4, at least in
Rawhide, so as to avoid problems like:

http://bugzilla.redhat.com/712943
Changed the BR: of db4-devel to libdb-devel is sufficient to achieve
this, and the resulting perl does pass its test suite.
I was told by libdb maintainer that db4 will be replaced by libdb.
Rebuild of all dependencies or everything will be needed, so those bugs
shouldn't occurred. I guess he will drive the whole change and rebuild.
When did the libdb maintainer say this? The new libdb has co-existed
with db4 since F15 and still the majority of Berkeley DB users in Fedora
are using db4.
Anybody else have any opinion on this?
Marcela, is RHEL-7 built consistently against the same libdb version or
is this mixing of versions going to be a problem throughout its entire
lifecycle?
Paul.
I'm not allowed to discuss it on public list.
OK, fair enough. I trust RH is on top of the issue though :-)
Paul.
