EPEL packages are not automatically brought forward to the next EPEL branch. 
Sorry I didn't see this bug sooner.  I've now built and submitted the package,
so it should show up in the EPEL 9 Testing repo soon.

As far as helping out, it's always nice to have co-maintainers.  First you'll
need to follow the steps to join the packagers group.
