https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1802358 Bug ID: 1802358 Summary: Please remove Requires for Apache::Util Product: Fedora Version: rawhide Status: NEW Component: perl-Template-Toolkit Assignee: tcallawa@xxxxxxxxxx Reporter: jfearn@xxxxxxxxxx QA Contact: extras-qa@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx CC: itamar@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, perl-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, tcallawa@xxxxxxxxxx, xavier@xxxxxxxxxxxx Target Milestone: --- Classification: Fedora Description of problem: This package has a hard requirement for Apache::Util which pulls in mod_perl and httpd, for cmd-line tools using Template-Toolkit this is a lot of unnecessary and often unwanted packages. IMO it should not require, recommend or suggest this dep. e.g. if you have a web app but are using nginx you don't want mod_perl & httpd being installed. It should Require HTML::Entities, if the user is running in a mod_perl environment it will automatically fallback to using Apache::Util. FWIW this deps breaks epel8 installs of this package ATM in some environments due to a broken httpd module. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ perl-devel mailing list -- perl-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to perl-devel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/perl-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
