This sounds like a huge disservice to saddle our users with.

If we did not patch the software we package, bugzilla would ask Fedora users
to install perl packages via install-module.pl instead of using dnf/yum,
DBD::Sqlite would be using the bundled version of sqlite, different from what
the
rest of the distribution is using, resulting in subtle, hard-to-debug bugs. I'm
sure there are many other examples.
