https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1217352 --- Comment #3 from Petr Pisar <ppisar@xxxxxxxxxx> --- > What I found particularly surprising in this case was that there was no > failover from the missing Archive::Tar to using /usr/bin/tar, which > Archive::Extract *is* able to find. I tried it in Fedora 23. If tar is installed and perl-Archive-Tar is not installed, Archive::Extract works for me. But it still warns "You do not have 'Archive::Tar' installed". > Upstream's documentation suggests that > Archive::Tar should be tried first and then fall back to tar. Yes, its funny module. Archive::Tar itself states that /usr/bin/tar is faster, so people concern about performance should use that. Due to the warning I will set dependency on perl(Archive::Tar) unconditionally. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. -- Fedora Extras Perl SIG http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/Extras/SIGs/Perl perl-devel mailing list perl-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/perl-devel
