Doing the yum update ended up leaving the system with a non-functional perl. It was simple to fix since I just did a package grep for perl and lib and found the perl-libs package and installed it manually. I wonder if the fact that libperl.so was provided by the -15 version and then was not in -17 somehow messed up the dependency check? I will see if I can find the time to do a fresh install from FC7test4 and then update again.
