Feel invited to take over or to co-maintain it - I've got enough of
other perl-modules ;)

OK, so you are saying, ignoring the warning and continuing as if it
wasn't present is the way to go?

This would be the simplest work-around to my issue (esp. because the
running tests doesn't expose any error at all :) ).
