    Hello -

         I'm trying to figure out the current state of Eclipse in Fedora
    and
    to get help understanding if it would be possible to build a certain
    project for Fedora.  I'm looking at GDLDE - a workbench for GDL:
    https://github.com/gnudatalanguage/gdlde
    <https://github.com/gnudatalanguage/gdlde>

    It appears to define and build a "gdlde" "product" - which seems to
    be a
    bundle of a bunch of libraries/jars.  This doesn't seem to be what we'd
    want to build for Fedora.

    I used to build Photran/PTP for eclipse but that seemed to be
    defined as
a "feature" for Eclipse.  Would it be possible to convert this
GDLDE
    "product" into a "feature"?  Something else?

Creating a feature from the product should be almost trivial task.

Perhaps for someone who knows what they are doing. I most assuredly do not. The project does seem to basically consist of a single plugin so appears simple, but my attempts to build just that have failed.

If you want to keep using it standalone not as a plugin you may want to look at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/eclipse-cdt/blob/f34/f/eclipse-cdt.spec <https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/eclipse-cdt/blob/f34/f/eclipse-cdt.spec> for all the various hacks done for cdtdebug - overall it's cumbersome and errorprone process. You may want to consider going flatpak way [1] [2] - direct product content used (not built from source as a con) but usable on every distro.

Thanks again.
