Hi,
Hi,
I installed Oracle JDK on my Fedora 23 KDE box. I setup alternatives as follow
[1].
why?
alternatives --install /usr/bin/javaws javaws /usr/java/default/jre/bin/javaws
200000

icedtea-web provides /usr/bin/javaws.itweb which become /etc/alternatives/javaws /usr/bin/javaws

This doesn't always work and result in the error in the subject like. It can
be fixed by following [2].

rm /var/lib/alternatives/javaws
alternatives --install /usr/bin/javaws javaws /usr/java/default/jre/bin/javaws
200000

I am curious why does it happen. Why does the link fail?

we do not use prebuilt libraries [1], suggestion are available here https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Java/FAQ?rd=JavaFAQ#Can_I_run_Oracle_Java_on_Fedora.3F (follow the links)
