Updating HSQLDB

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi.

After quite some time that Fedora had the old HSQLDB version, a new one
is about to be released in rawhide. A lot of packages is either
directly or indirectly dependent on this package (mostly by means of
org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver), so this change may affect you. A good part of
the library changed in one way or another (old ver. was 1.8.1.3, the
new one is 2.2.9). In the scenario that the update breaks your package
(even though I only know about one package that broke - openjpa), you
may want to use the compat version (called hsqldb1, courtesy of Gil
Cattaneo).

If you suspect that your problem may involve HSQLDB and/or using the
compat version doesn't cut it, don't hesitate to contact me via mail
(tradej@xxxxxxxxxx) or via IRC (nick tradej on #fedora-java on
freenode).

Cheers, TR
