Thankfully this doesn't happen for me with OpenJDK 7:

java version "1.7.0_b147"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (fedora-0.1.20110803.fc17-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 21.0-b17, mixed mode)
