Hi Christian, Let me know when you want to start and we will find some small package to get you sponsored. Java packaging guidelines are here http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Java . There maybe some updates needed to the guidelines but overall it should be a good starting point. Ask here on the list for everything you need help.
