This kind of error usually occurs when there is some problem with the
bootclasspath of ecj (the bytecode compiler part of Eclipse -- JDT
Core).  I believe tomcat -- or jasper .. I'm really not familiar with
this stuff -- uses ecj as well so I suspect a problem there.
