Hi
I'm new to Linux and unix-like systems, I need some advice on backup
solution for file level and block level backups
for file-level backups I found fsarchiver, dar, tar and for
file-system-level fsarchiver, clonezilla/partclone and dd appropriate
based on my requirements
(data integrity and confidentiality, mount and single-file-restoration
capabilities, btrfs and GPT support, ACL/Selinux preservation, xz
compression)
Advantage of tar and dd is that they are available every where but I'm
mostly concerned about file integrity with tar
and dd copies all unused blocks of file system too (fsarchiver or
clonezilla/partclone will only copy file-system + MBR)
I need some advice on Backup solutions, what is your personal methods
and solutions?
Any advice would be most welcome
Thanks

Hi Ali. Please don't cross-post to all of these lists for user
questions. The server, cloud, and desktop sig mailing lists are primarily for
development of Fedora in those areas. I'm going to remove those from
the list and reply just on the users list, which is an appropriate
place for this.

Hi all!
As we're getting to pretty solid RC, it's again time for release
announcement. Readiness meeting is on Thursday, would be nice to
have a draft ready for review and final version next Monday, so
text formatted and magazine versions can be prepared in advance.
Workstation seems to be pretty covered, do we have any additions
to Server and Cloud? The other thing is to get rid of all Beta
strings.

Thanks Joe for starting it and Paul for Workstation bit so
far! We had the best Alpha/Beta announcements so far, let's
continue with this high bar :).

I'll be poking at this tonight. Others are welcome, of course, but I'll
make sure it's in shape for Thursday and we should only need minor
tweaks for Monday.
Thanks!

As you guys are crafting improved notes, for better consistency, it
would be great to write in present tense about the release.
INCONSISTENT: "Fedora 21 Foobar will include special flavor crystals
that defy gravity and help you fly like Superman."
CONSISTENT: "Fedora 21 Foobar includes special flavor crystals that

It looks to me like the Atomic tree content is lagging significantly:

went stable on 2014-11-01 as far as I can tell.
The repo at http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/atomic/21/ has a slightly older no-op commit, so I assume this is an issue on the compose server side.
