It's actually nothing to do with the quality of the device itself, it's to do with the fact that the driver for the WiFi driver [1] isn't upstream in the mainline Linus kernel, we don't typically pull in drivers that aren't upstream, or at the very least been reviewed and accepted for upstream, simply because it's a support nightmare and we don't have enough resources to be able to do that.
