Booting F21 aarch64 with qemu+libvirt

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hey all,

I wrote up steps for booting F21 aarch64 with qemu + libvirt + uefi. Tested on x86 but should work be the same steps for running on aarch64 hw:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/AArch64/Install_with_QEMU

Not sure if that's the ideal wiki location, feel free to move around or reorganize as needed.

Things aren't fully working yet though. The methods documented are:

- Importing dmarlin's Foundation model image: Boots up fine, networking needs some tweaks

- Installing from CDROM: UEFI doesn't find any boot device. I think this is an issue with the CDROM media though. mgalgoci said he made it boot by messing with UEFI prompts, but I don't know what to do there. Would be interested in someone else giving it a try

- Installing from URL (virt-install --location): Hits a python-blivet backtrace: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1166876

But at least the disk import proves that things work, you can log in, etc.

- Cole
