It's the exact same SoC as on the Cubie 2, it will have the same problems.

This is a F20 KDE desktop live now via vnc on the Banana Pi
So why couldn't he do this on the Cubie 2?

Probably I turned left when I should have turned right. Some command I miscopied and pasted wrong. I will make a clean build and work with him on it.
