The audio codec will need to be mostly reworked. I had a
partially-reworked version locally, but it was lost in a git stash
mixup, so I'll have to start from scratch.
If the files were ever in git's 'database' there's a good chance I can rescue it. I've authored parts of git (importers, early cli commands).
