Hi All,
I'm very happy to announce the availability of Fedora 18 Beta for
Allwinner A10 based devices. This release is based on the official
Fedora 18 beta for ARM images.
Do you have a kernel RPM for the A10 yet?
No, I've been focussing on bug-fixing video-output issues and board
support.
I know Fu Wei was working on packaging the 3.4 A10 kernel
Yes, taht and -ENOTIME are both reasons why I've not looked into
packaging the kernel into an rpm
but I'm not sure if you have discussed this with him.
I've discussed it with him, we've sort of divided up the work in
me doing the kernel bugfixing and him doing the packaging.
Great. Thanks for the info. I'm sure between the two of you we'll have
a kernel package in short order.
Note that my A10 kernel images do use a kernel .config derived
from the standard fedora kernel .config's including using
merge.pl from there, see:
https://github.com/jwrdegoede/sunxi-kernel-config
Excellent!
You can download it here:
http://scotland.proximity.on.ca/contrib-images/hansg
will do.
It is important to read the README, the image standard comes without
u-boot pre-loaded since u-boot is board specific. The image includes
a user-friendly simple script to install the right u-boot for
your board, but if you simply xzcat the image to an sdcard, and then
boot your device with the sdcard, things will *not* work.
Have you considered adding support for the A10 boards (Gooseberry,
Cubieboard, etc.) to the uboot-tools package:
http://arm.koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=98609
As pbrobinson already said the sunxi u-boot is currently a fork
(with intention to merge upstream)
understood.
Thanks again,
