Fedora 18 ARM Mate desktop

After several people had asked about setting up kickstart to produce a Mate desktop version of F18, I made a first attempt. To allow testing by the widest audience, I made this version for Versatile Express (QEMU), so no ARM hardware is required to test it. I also included a rootfs-only tarball for those who would like to use this on hardware that has no Fedora kernel support. These are all available at:

This is provided as a starting point for anyone who wants to maintain a Mate spin or remix for their favorite hardware. This is provided as-is, and is largely untested, so if it breaks, you get to keep both the pieces.

Special thanks to Jon Chiappetta for providing, and adding features to, the livemedia-modifier script. This was used to make the vexpress image (extract the kernel images from the disk image, and make the image tarball), and to make the rootfs-only tarball (a new feature). Also special thanks to Paul Whalen for "smoke-testing" numerous images, and debugging boot issues.

Enjoy,

d.marlin
