Hi folks,
If you're thinking about taking the F17 alpha1 rootfs for a test drive
this message is for you.
A few weeks ago Peter added a section to the Fedora ARM page that
detailed important packages that were failing to build. Today the
majority of those build failures marked as "FIXED" so this has been
working quite well. So well, infact, that Peter was able to make a root
filesystem exclusively using Fedora 17 packages, a major milestone.
The next thing to be addressed are runtime failures that people are
running into as they try out the alpha1 rootfs. If IRC and the mailing
list are any indication, we've all hit a few issues with F17 ARM alpha,
though generally after a couple changes it's been working *really* well
for me. Peter and I talked about it and the logical conclusion was to
add a runtime issue section to the problem page, which I've done.
Thus, if you're trying out the F17 ARM alpha 1 and run into any trouble,
please visit:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM/Fedora17_rawhide
If you don't see your problem, please add it to the list. If you do see
your problem and know the solution, please make sure the solution is in
the list. We'll do our best to keep the list current and get the status
of every item to "FIXED"
And while you're there, if you happen to see a broken package you'd like
to work on, please do! Thanks everybody.
