Has anyone managed to get eclipse to build on ARM? There is a circular dependency (it required icu4j-eclipse, which requires eclipse to build). I bodged around it by --ignorearch installing the i686 package (I figure it's java and I couldn't find any arch dependent files in the package) to get the complete build deps, but after a few hours it eventually fails due to missing symbols: @dot: [mkdir] Created dir: /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/@dot [javac] Compiling 380 source files to /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jfac e/@dot [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/action /IAction.java:16: package org.eclipse.swt.events does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.events.HelpListener; [javac] ^ [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/action /IAction.java:17: package org.eclipse.swt.widgets does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Event; [javac] ^ [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/resour ce/ImageDescriptor.java:15: package org.eclipse.swt does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.SWTException; [javac] ^ [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/resour ce/ImageDescriptor.java:16: package org.eclipse.swt.graphics does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.graphics.Device; [javac] ^ [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/resource/ImageDescriptor.java:17: package org.eclipse.swt.graphics does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.graphics.Image; [javac] ^ [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/resource/ImageDescriptor.java:18: package org.eclipse.swt.graphics does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.graphics.ImageData; [javac] ^ [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/resource/ImageDescriptor.java:19: package org.eclipse.swt.graphics does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.graphics.PaletteData; [javac] ^ [javac] /builddir/build/BUILD/eclipse-build-0.6.2/build/eclipse-3.6.1-src/plugins/org.eclipse.jface/src/org/eclipse/jface/resource/ImageDescriptor.java:20: package org.eclipse.swt.graphics does not exist [javac] import org.eclipse.swt.graphics.RGB; (lots more after this). I can see there is plugins/org.eclipse.swt.gtk.linux.arm/swt.jar it contains org/eclipse/swt/graphics/ subdirectory, but it is empty. I cannot seem to find much information on building eclipse on ARM, except this Ubuntu thread: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/linuxtools-dev/msg00255.html Unfortunately, it is for Eclipse 3.5 and I need 3.6. Has anyone has any measure of success in getting this to build?
