#6: Please suspend Reindl Harald from devel@fedora mailing list ----------------------+--------------------- Reporter: rhughes | Owner: Status: reopened | Priority: normal Component: General | Resolution: Keywords: | ----------------------+--------------------- Comment (by kevin): Replying to [comment:21 hguemar]: > I reopened the ticket as a follow-up of the board action who decided to have the CWG discuss with Harald. > As he never really stopped continuously ranting, and that people keep regularly quoting him as one of the reason they consider fedora devel list being unfriendly, hence the request. > > Something I read just this week on another mailing list: > "Why hasn't Reindl been kicked out of Fedora yet? he's clearly violated the > mailing list policy on a number of occasions, but he doesn't get banned." Yeah, I saw that post too, but can you point me to the "mailing list policy" ? AFAIK we just have a code of conduct. > And this is not the first time. > I'm all for forgiveness and conciliation but I came to think that the toxic environment he contributes to create is not worth the effort anymore. If anyone still believe that they can make him mind his tone, go ahead but it has to stop. > > And yes, I agree with Josh that active contributors should also lead by example. So, IMHO, banning him now without any specific precipitating event seems like a poor precident. I'm of course happy to do whatever the council decides if they decide to do something here, but failing that, could I ask folks to keep an eye out for posts that you feel are not following our code of conduct and mail devel-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx soon after you see them, and if those merit removal from the list they can be done then and not months later. -- Ticket URL: <https://fedorahosted.org/council/ticket/6#comment:22> council <https://fedorahosted.org/council> Fedora Council Public Tickets _______________________________________________ council-discuss mailing list council-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: http://fedoraproject.org/code-of-conduct https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/council-discuss The Fedora Project's mission is to lead the advancement of free and open source software and content as a collaborative community.
